General Membership Meeting - 8pm Allegheny Traditional Academy
The CNNC’s General Membership Meeting will be held at the Allegheny Traditional Academy, 8pm, April 20th.
Agenda points will include a final vote on the amendments proposed for the CNNC Bylaws and nominations from the floor for members who wish to run for the May Board Elections.
CNCP - Garden Theatre Block
Community Meeting - 16th March @ 6:30pm AUUC North Avenue
This working group focuses on the block that houses the Garden Theater.
This block is historically significant, constitutes the “core” of the Central Northside and consists entirely of proper-ties owned by the URA. Presently the CNNC has been given an option to develop most of these properties and has, to this end, formed a group called “Northside Tomorrow” with the North Side Leadership Conference (NSLC.)
Topics of discussion will center on possible strategies to be pursued by “Northside Tomorrow” for restoring and developing the Garden Theater and the surrounding buildings in ways that will benefit the commu-nity and preserve this unique area.

CNCP - Economy and Market/Jobs and Retail
Community Meeting - 4th March - 6:30pm AUUC North Avenue
This working group assumes that healthy communities provide commercial services and economic opportunities for their residents and will work to indentify strategies for encouraging jobs and retail development in our neighborhood.
Topics for discussion may include using our historic architecture as a resource for economic and retail development and marrying retail development to quality residential development; luring large development sites that will attract jobs (e.g. biotechnology and medical facilities); identifying strategies for our retail corridors; and job creation and retention strategies .

CNCP - Residential Development (Houses and Housing)
Community Meeting: Wednesday, 4th March, 6:30pm
The group will be using data on housing from a variety of sources as grounds for discussion. Topics for discussion may include home ownership, market forces, vitality, livability, investment, rental housing supply and the potential displacement of long time residents due to market forces.
